What is PAS 2030 Accreditation?

PAS 2030 Accreditation (Certification) demonstrates that an installer meets the required standard to carry out a retrofit installation that ensures that the building will become more energy efficient.

What is PAS 2030 Accreditation and why do you need it?

Gaining PAS 2030 accreditation will open up many opportunities for your business.

It isn’t as complex as you may think and you probably just need a little more clarity around what it entails:

The first step is to make sure you have a Quality Management System (QMS) in place that meets the standard. If you do not have one, don’t worry! In the first instance you can download PAS 2030 Checklist to find out if you need to purchase a QMS or if you already of the right documents in place.

A Quality Management System (QMS) in simple terms is ‘paperwork’. This paperwork is in the form of company policies, working procedures and forms. You need to complete the relevant documents within your QMS to demonstrate that you are meeting the standard of PAS 2030.

To meet the requirements of the standard you need to have a qualified Retrofit Co-ordinator to oversee the assessment and design aspect (PAS 2035)  before any work under PAS 2030 commences. If you are working for a primary contractor or funder they may fulfil this already for you. If you don’t you will either need to subcontract this out to a qualified Retrofit Coordinator, or up-skill someone in house.

Next you need to ensure competence of your installers and operatives. At least one installer per team needs to have the relevant qualifications and certifications to carry out the measures which you are installing. e.g for insulation this will be a Level 2 NVQ in Insulation and Building Treatments.

To make sure you are compliant you will need to show that you are insured to the required and suitable levels.

Once you have all of these in place, then you are ready for your first stage of assessment! To progress with this, you just need to complete our online application. Once our PAS team receive this, they will be in touch to provide a price and a quotation for the assessment process.
