Simply’s first year

Celebrating our first year!

Wow. What a year it has been. I mean, who would set up a brand new certification body and want to go through the rigorous process of gaining UKAS accreditation during a worldwide pandemic?

Well … us of course!

Our mission is to keep things simple and we suppose we couldn’t have picked a more difficult time to bring to life our vision of a certification body that is customer orientated, straightforward and supportive.

These last twelve months have flown by:

  • We’ve grown our team
  • Moved premises
  • Gone through the process of applying to become UKAS accredited and a TrustMark scheme provider
  • Welcomed lots of new customers on board
  • Grown great partnerships with fantastic people and organisations who have been so supportive throughout our journey

 

The certification body that breaks the mould

When we started this journey 12 months ago we thought through what would make us different to the existing CBs; what makes our story unique?

We knew the CB industry had a bit of a reputation of having a certain type of culture. Providing accredited certification means auditing has to be robust, impartial and thorough. But does this mean certification bodies should be the tail that is wagging the dog? That auditors are unfriendly and going out of their way to find issues? That processes should tie clients in knots?

Absolutely not!

Positive, supportive and straightforward

Simply was born with a positive, supportive and straightforward approach that adds value for our clients. We have developed our processes, systems and teams to make sure that not only are we meeting the high standards set out by UKAS, but we do it in a way that is customer orientated and streamlined – ensuring our customers are delighted with their service and find the experience really valuable in helping their businesses to continue to improve.

Becoming an accredited certification body is certainly not easy. This first year has been spent setting up and refining our processes and undergoing intense audits ourselves. We couldn’t have achieved what we have if it wasn’t for our wonderful customers and partners who have joined us on our journey.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to you all!

What’s in store over the next 12 months?

More UKAS applications, more customers who are joining us, growing our assessment team, growing our head office team, launching a new platform and much more.

We’re so proud of what we have achieved to date and look forward to driving our vision forward and our customers actually enjoying the certification process instead of dreading it!

Simply Certification to become a TrustMark Scheme Provider

Now that we are taking on customers for PAS 2030, the next natural course of action is to be able to offer TrustMark Registration. This ensures that our customers are getting a smooth service to gain the relevant compliance needed for their funding and contract requirements.

We’re delighted to be well underway with the process to become a TrustMark Scheme Provider and will be launching this in the coming weeks.

What does this mean?

TrustMark is the Government Endorsed Quality Scheme covering work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home.

When a consumer uses a TrustMark Registered Business, they know they are engaging an organisation that has been thoroughly vetted to meet required standards, and has made a considerable commitment to good customer service, technical competence and trading practices.

What are the benefits?

There are many benefits to becoming a TrustMark Registered business:

  • More exposure to consumers who are looking for a installer
  • Gaining a mark that instills trust and confidence in consumers
  • Qualifying for funding and contracts
  • Gaining a competitive edge
  • Helping to eradicate cowboy traders

How does becoming a TrustMark registered business work with Simply Certification?

As we are already offering PAS 2030, we are able to carry out the required assessment for TrustMark during your PAS 2030 audit – which is a cost and resource saving in itself.

To add TrustMark to your PAS 2030 package, will only cost you an additional £66 + VAT.

New office for Simply Certification

Exciting news for Team Simply!

This is our new office that we will be moving into on 1st June 2021!

Due to our success and growth, we needed more space for our team and what better place than the Eco Centre in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear.

Alexandra Gates Strategy and Marketing Director tells us;

Simply Certification launch UK’s first PAS 2030 Awareness Course

PAS 2030 Awareness Course

A two day PAS 2030 awareness course – that provides candidates a fast track to gain knowledge of the standard and how to implement and maintain it – has been launched today by Simply Certification.

In partnership with Eco Academy, the first course will be delivered across two days starting the 10th November 2020.

Alex Gates, Simply Certification’s Sales and Marketing Director explains;

“This is such an exciting time for the eco industry in terms of opportunities for growth. However to benefit from funding and all of the opportunities available, there is a need to demonstrate compliance via PAS 2030.

PAS 2030 Awareness Couse

There is so much to learn about the standard and this can be extremely confusing and time consuming. So with leading industry experts in the standard we have packaged this up into a two day training course.

As well as providing formal training around the standard, the course will allow candidates to get their heads around it quickly saving them much time and energy trying to figure it all out.”

New certification body launched that promises to break the mould

A new certification body, Simply Certification Limited, was launched in August 2020 and promises to make the ISO and PAS 2030 certification experience to its customers and enjoyable one!

Austin Gibbons, one of the founders of Simply explains;

“I’ve worked in the industry for a few years now as a lead auditor and consultant and it became really apparent to me that organisations actually viewed certification assessments on the whole as a negative experience. Often dreading ‘that time of year’ again which I felt was a shame.

It also appeared to me and that many certification bodies in general were quite dry and didn’t have much of personal appeal. Customer service and a positive culture is everything for a successful business, however this had seemed to be lost in the midst of assessments, standards and compliancy for many certification bodies.”

Austin continues;

“Simply Certification was born out of a team of us coming together with the same vision, attitude and passion; to provide a certification experience that wasn’t needlessly overcomplicated, that our clients enjoy and that is an overall great customer experience.
