The process to ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification

The beginning bit

  • First of all you need a management system put in place that is ‘assessment ready’. If you need help to do this, get in touch.

  • Complete our quick estimate form so we have some information about you.

  • We will let you know the estimated cost based on the information you have provided.

  • If you want to proceed, simply let us know by email.

  • We need to make sure enough assessment days are allocated, so we will call you to gain a deeper understanding of your business. This will result in a final quote.

The middle bit

  • We will match you with one of our excellent auditors and book in your date for a “Stage One Assessment.” This assessment is a document review to ensure your management system meets the ISO standards.

  • Your “Stage Two Assessment” will also be programmed in, usually 4-6 weeks after your Stage One. This is a review of your day to day operations so that we can collect evidence to demonstrate your working practices are in line with your management system.

  • If there are no major non conformances following your Stage Two you will be recommended to be certified. If there are non conformances you will have 6 weeks to address them and provide evidence of these. A decision maker will review the final report, verify this and then a certificate will be issued.

The ongoing bit

  • Once you have gained certification you enter into a cycle of surveillance audits. We always provide a consistent and efficient audit program.

  • These are much shorter than the initial audit and are carried out to ensure your organisation is meeting the ISO standard.

  • When you come towards the end of the three years, we will be in touch to organise a re-certification visit.  This won’t be as in detail as the initial audit and will start off the next three year certification cycle.

  • We always work closely with our clients to ensure they are happy with our service and have ongoing communications throughout your cycle to discuss any changes that may effect your certification.
