Unfortunately there are times when an installer does not meet the required standards. Here is a list of those installers who have held certification with Simply and that are currently without certification whether suspended or withdrawn.
Installers that deliver under Government funding schemes such as Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF), Great British Insulation Scheme (BIS), Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) and Sustainable Warmth, need to demonstrate they are installing to recognised standards accepted by Government.
We act as a third party assessment body that delivers assessments under these accepted standards, which include:
Our role is to use the assessment requirements provided by the bodies listed above and to carry out an initial assessment to see if they meet the requirements of the standard – this results in initial certification.
In order for the installer to retain certification they must have surveillance assessments on a sample of their installs.
The calculation of this sample will be determined by the standard provided by the bodies above.
Certification is renewed yearly.
Our terms and conditions detail our scheme and are regularly audited by UKAS and TrustMark to ensure they are satisfied our ongoing activities meet these standards.
Scheme Owner’s instruction
Simply Certification deliver assessments under scheme rules, and sub licences. Where a scheme owner such as TrustMark, MCS or Flexi-Orb instruct us to suspend or withdraw certification we will do so.
Breach of terms
When an installer applies for certification with Simply, they agree to the terms and conditions of the scheme. If a certified installer is found to breach the terms of their contract with Simply Certification, we are able to suspend or withdraw their certificate.
Failure to comply to surveillance
Gaining certification in the first instance requires a head office audit alongside one technical inspection per measure (e.g. Underfloor, Internal Wall, Gas Boilers etc).
From then on, it is up to the installer to inform their certification body of the installs they have completed, so that the certification body can then inspect 1-10% of these as part of their ongoing surveillance. This is a % of inspections that is determined through a risk based calculation.
Failure to comply with inspections, will result in certification to be suspended or withdrawn.
QMS Constant non-conformances
During our assessments if we find that the certified management system has persistently or seriously failed to meet certification requirements we will suspend or withdraw certification.
Ignoring non-comformances
If there has been a failure to apply corrective action because of non- conformities that has been found at assessment or surveillance visits we will look to suspend or withdraw certification.
